Times Three was born of a friendship forged high in the Rocky Mountains, While singing opera and hiking at the Aspen Music Festival. Amy Ellen Anderson, Nan Hughes, and Kathy McMillan started their collaboration as a trio with a residency at the Banff Centre of the Arts, in Canada's Rockies. Together as Times Three, their warmly reminiscent repertoire of the great American songs of the 1940's has taken them across the heartland of America, performing with symphony orchestras from Texas to New Jersey.
Their show, I'll Be Seeing You: Times Three Sings The Songs of WWII was premiered with the Edmonton Symphony in Alberta, Canada. They have performed as guest artists with the Baltimore Symphony (on July 4th) and the Charleston Symphony, among many others. Times Three's repertoire ranges from swing tunes to opera, from art songs to jazz. They have performed in caberet in Banff, Canada and New York City. They've wowed world financial leaders at the APEC conference and have serenaded islanders on Saipan, Rota, and Tinian. All three are active as solo artists with careers including contemporary music, opera, and musical theater. Their jazz CD, Times Three Swings, is available at www.timesthree.org
"This is an excellent show. The songs are classics, the arrangements for orchestra first-rate, and the performers polished and professional...the combination of fine singing and exceptional performance material makes this a wonderful choice for a symphonic pops show.
